As has been speculated all night, Aaron Ward of TSN recently confirmed the Flames long time captain has been traded to the Bruins. The assumed return is Alex Khokhlachev, Matt Bartkowski and a first round pick. We will update with further confirmation and other news as it breaks.

For Kenneth AgostinoBen Hanowski and a first round pick.

Good luck in Pittsburgh Jarome. And thank you for everything. Go win that cup.

More to come...

For one month it's hard to say, if he had a year left on his contract it would be a different conversation, which is why we should have traded him last year.

OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, TODAY WAS JUDGEMENT DAY FOR THE CALGARY FLAMES ORGANIZATION AND JAROME IGINLA. 525 GOALS, 1,095 POINTS ALL WITHOUT A #1 CENTER. JAROME DESERVES TO WIN A STANLEY CUP, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND THANKS FOR A GREAT RIDE.

Lets just be glad Iginla is getting to play for the cup and we got some return instead of a "Sundin" return. Also we dont know for sure what the return is...

With Fluery I was like well ok he is gone. But this one feels different. Like a punch to the gut.

Good luck Jarome You have just become hated by the Canadien fans. But that is ok with me. Win the cup.

Would love to see them take the B's pick & some sort of prospect to try & move up in the draft.

Sad to see Iginla go, happy he has a shot to win a cup.

Will be cheering for the Bruins!

Has Feaster ever won a negotiation ever!? Conditional 1st rounder? What if they absolutely low ball the offer and he moves somewhere else?

Looks fairly confirmed. Bartkowski, Kokhachuckelkovalov, and conditional 1st if Iginla signs.

This trade shows how Flames ownership management is not capable of making hockey trades.

The conditional 1st rounder wouldn't be so bad if we got one of their top prospects/young players, not their 4th or 5th best prospect. Spooner, Knight or Hamilton would've been more worth it than Khokhlachev...

They likely aren't considering Hamilton a prospect anymore. According to hockeys future him and spooner are rated the same.

WTF ? Jerome has the stats to prove his value ..yes. He never (in my opinion) took the Team on his back and carried them to glory beyond their talent level. Take Kipper out of the ripp off against Tampa Cup final year and where would we see Jerome ? Slow starter- Every year , documented uncoachable team member......He wa good , yes , very good In His way, this is a good and 3 years late development.

I think that's a load. Even if you ignore Hamilton , Spooner seems (IMO) to be a better center - higher ceiling. Knight is debateable, but he's a wing so I can understand why we'd lean away from that. But he seems like a total player, whereas Khokhlachev seems like another Cervenka.

Unless its conditional on the B's going to the finals or resigning Iggy. I could live with that. Still....

Maybe we try to resign Iggy in the summer and re-trade him at next years DL. Heck, we could make it an annual thing like Tkachuk.

From previous trades that I can think of, most conditional picks involving players re-signing usually hinge around a specific date and involve picks in the year following.

In this case, I would have to assume that the pick is for 2014, if conditions are activated.

Good luck, Iggy. Few players have served their team with such class. All the best in your cup run. (The Bruins look like they do need you, based on tonight. :) )

For those bemoaning the small returns Feaster got, consider he was in a tight spot. The pool of potential trade partners was essentially down to three. Realistically, would Chicago or LA have given us anything better? You'd have to think not, or we'd have taken it.

The market of three dictated the price here. Time to cut our losses and move on....

After Mike Green's frightening giveaway the other night, I wonder if Washington would give us their first rounder for Buowmeester?

Ken King should have been fired the day after he made Duhryl GM. Awesome Coach does not equal GM material.
