The NHLN Notebook is a semi-regular feature of interesting hockey content from the past few days that doesn't quite deserve its own article.
In this NHLNotebook, we look at McDavid becoming the third fastest Oiler to reach 100 points, Jordan Eberle finally getting the monkey off his back as well as a TSN Trade Bait list that is packed full of big names.

It's time for your weekly dose of the NHL Numbers power rankings. I'll look at the five best and worst NHL teams thus far in the season, as well as the three best and worst players in the last week.
Note: All use of Corsi For and Expected Goals For are Score and Venue Adjusted, and at even strength. All stats come from Corsica Hockey, and NHL.com (don't worry, it's only the standings).

It's been a little less than a month since our last Consolidated Rankings were published, but six of the eight list makers have put out new rankings, and there has been plenty of movement already. The World Junior Championships also took place in that time frame, and as that's one of the most important events of the season for draft eligible prospects, it factors heavily in the perception of many of the players.
Let's take a look at the potential first round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, as it looks in mid-January.

As the saying goes, one man's trash is another's treasure. The way P.A. Parenteau is cycling through teams, I find recycling a more apt fit between the well-traveled winger and the timeless adage though.
Of course, finding a fit for Parenteau hasn't exactly been a walk in the park. A veteran of eight NHL seasons, the 33-year-old winger is on his seventh team with the New Jersey Devils. As the Devils playoff hopes wane and the trade deadline encroaches, it's possible they won't even be his last this season either.
That's added incentive for Parenteau to play his part in a Devils turnaround. He sounds upbeat about the possibility, even as long odds await New Jersey at every turn.
