Lots of people might be worried about the Canadian men's hockey team right now. My advice? You probably shouldn't be. As much as people are focusing on the negative, there's a lot of positive arrows - including their three wins.

You always hear about how size is an asset in the game. But do players with size actually have demonstrably better careers than their counterparts?
With the help of reader Byron Bader (who compiled the raw numbers and provided some analysis), we're going to take a look and see if that's the case or not.

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
I've said for a couple of seasons now that I think Matt Stajan is still a quality player. Even when he was in the midst of his .3 PPG season in 2011-2012, some were still defending him even though scores of Flames fans clamored for a buyout. With him entering perhaps his final season in Calgary, it's time to examine exactly what went wrong.
Let's take a look at the numbers and do some analysis.

We’ve heard a lot about draft year scoring and how it predicts NHL performance - but that's not where a prospect's pre-NHL development usually ends. So the question is, do subsequent seasons such as a player’s performance in his draft+1 year help forecast future NHL success or failure?

This summer, I think compliance buyouts will be more focused on guys who can't play anymore and guys who just suck. I believe we'll see the "skill" guys bought out next year, when a decision absolutely has to be made one way or another. Guys like Lecavalier, Richards and Bourque will likely be given this season to prove one way or another if they're worth their contracts. That's just the way I feel about it - if it were up to me, most of those type of contracts would've never been signed.
