NHLN Playoff Notebook: Dallas and Nashville Both Force Game Seven, Gudbranson Re-Signs with Florida

What was that? You ordered a couple of game sevens for your pleasure? Well, whether you did or not, that's exactly what you're going to get. Dallas got off to an early lead, and then forgot how to play hockey for 40 minutes when St. Louis almost came back. Meanwhile, we had OT in Nashville yet again, but this time not as long, as the Preds beat the Sharks in overtime to force game 7. Also, Erik Gudbranson re-signed with the Florida Panthers to a one year, $3.5 million contract, so we'll see how smart of a deal that was.

NHLN Playoff Notebook: Lightning advance, Sharks and Blues are on the brink

The Tampa Bay Lightning advance to the Conference Final for the second year in a row, even though the real Eastern Conference Final is technically being played right now between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals. On the other side, the St. Louis Blues have a chance to advance to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2001, which gives a nice reminder of some goaltending issues they've dealt with in the past, and how that's showing up right here for the Dallas Stars. And the Nashville Predators return home tonight for Game 6 with the San Jose Sharks, which means an automatic win, right? Since they're at home?

NHLN Playoff Notebook: Not quite enough from the Islanders

Well, you can’t say that they didn’t try. The New York Islanders came into the fourth game of their series against the Tampa Bay Lightning in desperate need of a win after dropping the previous two games, but they couldn’t get the job done. 

Now, the Lightning are one win away from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, which really isn’t something that was expected of them when it was announced that captain Steven Stamkos was sidelined for the final stretch of the season due to a blood clot in his arm.
